Snare is my Powered by the Apocalypse RPG based on slasher films, especially ones that don't explicitly include supernatural elements. Snare borrows heavily from Monster of the Week, and I haven't yet officially published it since it's still in a rough draft form, doesn't include detailed instructions, and is too derivative of MotW.
I used Snare to run a series of ten standalone slasher film sessions during the summer & fall of 2021, and it provided a great opportunity to play whacky characters that would get killed off, create self-indulgent stories about killers in love, create narratives about revenge, and explore the horror of adoring something so much you might destroy it.
